History
Lindley has ancient roots that date back prior to the Norman Conquest, and is old enough to have been recorded in the 1086 Domesday Book as Lilleia.

Lindley’s main shopping street is Lidget Street, which is famous for its iconic clock tower. On it you’ll find a great selection of shops, including an independent children’s bookshop, a brilliant butcher, a florist and an independent wine merchant. There’s also a Sainsbury’s Local and Londis store for essential groceries.
In Huddersfield town centre, just five minutes away by car, there’s also a large Tesco and Sainsburys.
