1. Sowerby Bridge
Sowerby Bridge is around 3 miles out of Halifax Town Centre and is, from our experience one of the most popular areas to live in Halifax. The area's popularity has risen even more in recent years with Sowerby Bridge proving to be a real hit with first time buyers and families alike.
The area benefits from lots of local businesses, shops and eateries, meaning there’s plenty on your doorstep. For trips out you’ll have a train station on your doorstep which supports routes to Blackpool, York, Leeds, Manchester and Chester, just to name a few!
2. Southowram
Southowram is a quieter area found between Halifax and Brighouse with plenty of access to green space. The area has proved popular with families over recent years due to its excellent schooling options and more rural feel whilst maintaining close ties to neighbouring towns.
This area is really up-and-coming as the trend for access to green space continues in the property market.
3. Rishworth
Rishworth is a semi-rural village in Calderdale. Located to the south of Halifax, the area has easy access to the M62, making the area popular with commuters working in Greater Manchester or Leeds but looking to be set in a more rural location.
The area has great local walks with Rishworth Hall Wood, Ryburn Reservoir and Booth Dean Clough just to name a few! The area also has excellent schooling options with St John’s Primary School and Rishworth School on your doorstep.
4. Savile Park
Savile Park is an area in Halifax which has always proved to be hot spot for movers. The period properties which overlook the famous park are always quick to be snapped up!
The area is a hive of activity in the summer with Savile Park and Manor Park Botanical Gardens making the perfect day out when the sun hits the historic town.
5. Skircoat Green
Just a short walk from the large employer Llloyds Banking Group offices is the popular residential area of Skircoat Green. Skircoat Green benefits from proximity to Halifax Town Centre as well as a good number of local amenities, as well as Savile Park.
