If you’re looking to get active, head to Alkrington Woods, the reserve has a 3.5-mile perimeter with 3 public footpaths. Who knows where you’ll end up! The Rochdale Canal flows through Middleton and provides a great route to walk or cycle along. If that’s not your cup of tea, Middleton also has 2 golf clubs, 2 tennis clubs as well as a cricket club!

History

Middleton is the home to England's oldest pub the “The Olde Boar’s Head” and is a grade 2 listed building. With over 500 years of history, it’s a great place to relax, dine and enjoy a drink. Middleton is also the birthplace of Edgar Wood, who rose to fame with his bold Art Nouveau architectural styles.
